Challenges of Weather-based Annual Daylight Simulations on Real Projects

Course Description:
This session will identify various challenges associated with annual / weather based daylight simulation experienced in the context of our projects and resolution. From the data collection step, validation of weather data to the development of custom tools to integrate window shades into annual simulation, attendees will learn about important steps required to be make to successful predictions of how a building performs with regard to day lighting over a year. Presenters will compare different daylighting metrics and review daylighting visualization techniques that can help owners and designers to understand how their building performs with regards to glare conditions and visual comfort.
